Barnes Murray de Bháill, Consulting Engineers was established in 1994 to provide specialist engineering services to the civil sector. In the intervening period, consistent continued success has led to an increase in the scope of services provided such that a comprehensive range of planning, architectural, engineering, and environmental services are now offered across a broad range of sectors.

Nigel Barnes, Lord St. Hilary (C. Eng)
Nigel Barnes, Lord St. Hilary is a Chartered Engineer with over 40 years’ international experience in the industry. Over the course of his career he has worked on diverse projects in a wide range range of countries including Brazil, Russia, America, and South Africa and has developed a detailed knowledge and understanding of a vast array of engineering services. More recently, he has developed an active involvement in historical house conservation and now provides advice and skills training in historical house conservation and the use of traditional building methods and materials. Nigel has published extensively over the course of his career and has recently published a book on Restoration and Conservation.
Kieran Murray (BSc, MIEI)
Kieran Murray holds a degree in Environmental Sciences from University College Cork and is a member of Engineers Ireland. He has extensive experience of the engineering and environmental sectors and has been actively involved in the successful delivery of multiple large scale residential, commercial, and industrial projects including housing estates, nursing homes, windfarms, and waste facilities. He has a particular interest in the areas of storm water management and the design of drainage infrastructure. Kieran has undertaken various courses with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Sustainable Energy Ireland (SEI), and Cork Institute of Technology (CIT) and is an approved Site Assessor and Building Energy Assessor.
Aoife de Bháill (BA, MPhil)
Aoife de Bháill graduated from University College Cork before moving to University College London to undertake her PhD studies. She has a background in geography and spatial planning and her primary area of interest relates to the development and delivery of sustainable residential designs. Her design philosophy is rooted in a modern interpretation of the vernacular. Aoife has extensive experience of the planning process in Ireland has been involved in the successful delivery of numerous residential and commercial developments.
